Our Conductor

Stewart Anderson undertook clarinet studies at the University of Toronto with Blago Simeonov, former principal clarinet of the Bulgarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is a former principal clarinet with the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with the North York Symphony, Symphony Hamilton and Oshawa Symphony orchestras. He has also performed over the years in various orchestral and chamber settings with leading Canadian artists, including Lois Marshall, Boris Brott, Leslie Kinton, and Baird Knechtel.

Stewart Anderson undertook his conducting studies with Ernesto Barbini at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and has attended the prestigious Dirigenskurs ( Conductors Course ) of the renowned conductor Sergiu Celibidache, former Music Director of the Munich Philharmonic.
